Operations Manager for Market Communication


As an Operations Manager at FlexPower, you will drive the energy transition by ensuring the flow of information between our customers, grid operators (DSOs/TSOs), tech, and trading teams. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that power reaches its intended destination. You will operate at the heart of FlexPower, managing processes from our sales leads through the customer portfolio to the trading floor and back. We offer power purchase agreements to operators of wind and solar farms, optimize third-party batteries, and close origination deals in the B2B sector. You will work in a fast-paced team with our customers, service providers, and energy institutions to coordinate and automate processes. You will help to develop the new industry benchmark for managing data flows between generation facilities, flexible demand, grid operators, energy exchanges, market data sources, and their traders.

We expect you to work regularly in our Hamburg office, with hybrid work options available. We are looking for detail-oriented problem solvers. You will gain an in-depth understanding of the European energy landscape and be encouraged to grow into a leadership role.

You enjoy to

  • Organizing market communication with TSOs and DSOs and closely communicating with our customers and service providers.
  • Finding solutions in a fast-paced and pragmatic team to improve the daily flow of our operational processes.
  • Handling energy data and managing balance group accounting. Redispatch processes do not scare you; instead, you solve them quickly in the interest of the customer.
  • Implementing continuous improvements across the entire business process landscape to ensure fully digital and automated operations.
  • Leading projects for technical optimizations and upgrades of the existing system landscape.

You are confident in your abilities!

  • You take responsibility as an Operations Manager: 1-3 years of prior experience in energy markets is a plus. Experience in trading, commodities, logistics, shipping, scheduling, and nomination is especially valuable.
  • You understand the intricacies of the energy sector, particularly in the German market, and communicate confidently with customers and external partners.
  • You think analytically while developing excellent organizational skills with the ability to present complex topics appropriately for the target audience.
  • Data quality and secure information flows are second nature to you.
  • You understand data modeling, data quality, and data governance and can implement them effectively.
  • You actively participate in the architecture, data design, and review of the application landscape, focusing on reusable and scalable modules.
  • You collaborate using all the tools within the MS O365 landscape. Python is a plus.
  • You communicate in German and English at a minimum C1 level.
